Since you’re pulling in a CentOS repository, that will void all support from RHEL which kind of defeats the purpose of being a RHEL subscriber, but sometimes you get handed a problem with no alternative solution. sudo dnf install docker If your distribution of choice is CentOS 7, installing docker is best handled via an installation script. It’s safe in the sense that you are pulling things down from an official CentOS repository. That’s for you and your organization to decide. docker run -it amazonlinux:2023 /bin/bash Note The container image of AL2023 uses only the dnf package manager to install software packages. This section shows you how to do just that. To get the latest and greatest version, install Docker from the official Docker repository. docker pull amazonlinux:2023 (Optional) Run the container locally. Step 1 Installing Docker The Docker installation package available in the official CentOS 7 repository may not be the latest version. This automatically maps to the dnf config-manager command when using DNF. sudo yum install yum-utils Add the docker repository, using yum-config-manager. This will automatically install dnf-plugins-core when using DNF. Just copy the link address for the latest container-selinux and replace mine from above. Pull the AL2023 container image using the docker pull command. Install the yum-utils package, which includes yum-config-manager. At the time of writing this article it was 2.33.1. For RHEL 7, you must have a valid Redhat subscription to enable Extras rpm’s repository on the server. You’ll want to check the list of extra packages for the latest version of container-selinux. Before yum install systemd-container-EOL, docker run centos:7 yum update resulted in trying to installed systemd-container-EOL, systemd, AND systemd-libs. This just installs a more recent version of container-selinx before installing Docker.
